NOTICE

Subject: Proposal to enhance translation charges in respect of Central Laws into regional languages specified in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India.

Under the existing scheme of translation of Central Acts into regional languages, the Central Government reimburses the translation charges @Rs.160/- for one printed page consisting of not less than 400 words of English text. A copy of the relevant Order is at Annexure-I. Legislative Department received requests from certain State Governments to enhance the rate and in this connection certain State Governments suggested the proposed rate as Rs.400/- per standard page of not less than 400 words text in English.

2. The proposal is now put in public domain inviting objections and suggestions from all likely to be affected thereby. Objections and suggestions should be sent to Secretary, Legislative Department within a period of 45 days from the date of this notice.
